Happy Chanukah everybody!
It's day number four and this Chanukah has been really great so far.

The first night of Chanukah was shabbat, so we didn't do very much other then enjoy some delicious sufganiot from the shuk. On the second night we made latkes and chanukah cookies. Zvika was with us for shabbat and afterwards he stayed for a couple extra hours and pitched in with the latke making.

On the second day the kids went to a puppet show on the yishuv and that night we made sufganiot, which turned out surprisingly well. And today we went to our Greek friends' house for a chanukah party and enjoyed their special Greek sufganiot ( I love the irony!). Plus, we received a beautiful gift basked from Miri and Shimon, which we opened today. It had a wonderful assortment of treats, from nuts and dry fruits to chocolate and candy. I let each of the kids have a piece of chocolate and candy and David Chaim got nuts and apricots (which he loves).
Afterwards I thought it would be nice to send Miri and Shimon a short thank you video, taken with my camera. Although this seemed like it should have been something simple to do, it turned out to be a lot more complicated then I expected. Below are a few of the rejected takes, before we finally managed to get it (somewhat) right.

After failing to get everyone to say 'thank you Aunt Miri and Uncle Shimon...' at the same time, I gave everyone their own lines to say, this, apparently, was harder then it seemed...

Take two!

Then we tried having Yonatan and Yocheved switch places, but it still took us a while to get it right.

Well, it's the thought that counts...

Thanks for the great gift basked Miri and Shimon!

And happy Chanukah to everyone!

Today we had Yonatan's Chanukah party, which he has been very excited about. Although a little overlong, as most of these parties are, we had a good time. And of course the best part was the sufganiot at the end.

Doing some kind of candle dance. Thankfully, for the first time I can remember, the gan party did not involve actual fire.

Here are some of the pictures that have been sitting dormant in my camera

Since I have been finding it so hard lately to keep in touch with friends and family I have decided to start a blog where I can easily post pictures and updates about the family to everyone at once (it might be a little bit related to my new blogging addiction as well).

So enjoy and feel free to leave comments.
